A day pass in Southwestern Ontario: Guelph and Waterloo (Cambridge)

So, this time it is a day pass road trip with Roy and my friends Julio, Brenda and Lisa.

After an hour driving from Scarborough, we reached the butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge. We spent about an hour there. Starting with a walk inside, whereby, self-guided we discovered butterflies and other insects. Personally, I was amazed about how different the butterflies originated from Indonesia were. We took a look of those from our countries as well.

A butterfly that impacted me the most, was specifically the Owl butterfly. And it was because of its prints. After the indoor activity, we stepped out and enjoyed a beautiful conservatory. Some of the butterflies were standing in some of us, I found out how cool it was. This beautiful place is surrounded by plants and flowers. I'll encourage people to sit and feel how peaceful it is over there.

After this experience, we headed to Rockwood Conservation area. With Brenda on the head and guided by a map provided by the park, we made a fantastic route. We went hiking for all over the place, or let’s say most of it. This place is one of my favorite parks that I’ve been for this kind of activities. Considering that there, you won’t get tired of watching "just trees", as other hikes. Whereas, you will discover different spots on the way, with wonderful views. In my opinion, this park must be visited while being in Southwester Ontario. And as a recommendation, plan to spend longer hours to enjoy some activities such as kayak or climbing.

After our two visits, we ended up in a Dominican Food truck recommended by Julio, it was located at Mississauga. As good Dominicans that we are, we couldn’t lose the chance of stopping by and grabbing some fried plantains.
