This time I’m living in Toronto,
but traveling to Quebec with my friends: Caroline, Roy and Andoni. It was an
incredible experience full of adrenaline, and my first time riding a scooter.
We visited the regional county municipality: Île d'Orléans, La Jaques-Cartier (Municipality: Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier). The region of Montreal (Vieux Montreal), the
region of Chaudiere-Appalaches (Lévis)
Saturday
We walked over Vieux Montreal, we
saw the Notre-Dame Basilica and the bank of Montreal Museum. We walked down Rue
Saint-Paul where there are numerous restaurants and boutiques. After a while,
we stopped and had dinner at Restaurant Papillon ($68.69 for 2) I could say
that we received a good service and the food quality was very good, the
atmosphere is most likely “vintage”.
We arrived at the hotel in Lévis,
around 1am. We stayed at Days Inn by Wyndham Lévis. Which was a good location/price,
we had breakfast included but as per the virus instead of buffet we had two
choices of meal for take-out.
Sunday
After breakfast we arrived at 448
Rue des Alleghanys where a new experience awaited us. So, this is the place where
we rented the Scooters. We paid $109 for a double scooter and drove around Ille
d’Orleans. It was an extremely cool sensation driving across the bridge that
connected the island. I wasn’t expecting visiting and island to then figure out
how much resemble to a farm it was. On the way we saw many kiosks selling
apple, apple tours, and few milk and cheese spots. Roy and I switched the
“driving job” so we could experience the driving part and the back seat
feeling. Place where we had lunch with a beautiful green view. I tried for
first time the “Italian poutine”. In this restaurant you order the food, pay
for it, pick it up by called and drop it yourself to the back of the stall,
where you will find a big garden. The name of it is Resto de la Plage ($52.50 for 2).
After maybe 3 hours we drove back
to return the scooters. We head out to the municipality of
Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier where an indoor water park was arranged. It should
be noted that in this territory is where is constructed the famous Ice Hotel in
Winter. The park premises also have an hotel, and the out-door water park which
operates seasonal. We bought a night pass ticket for only $29.99 an it is available from 5pm to 9pm. We
only spent two hours which was enough to enjoy the all park and spend time
floating on “the island”. The park isn’t big, but enough to have fun and to
fill you on adrenaline. Even more knowing how cheap the ticket was, is worthy.
After Bora water park, we had
dinner in Rotisserie St Hubert ($54.60 for 2) which is the version of “Swiss
Chalet” in Toronto, as Caroline mentioned. The food was exquisite, great
service, and modern atmosphere. There are many of this franchise around the
area.
Monday
I woke up kind of early as it was
the check-out happening soon, and I didn’t want to lose a chill out in the pool
and the hot water jacuzzi. After it, we went to Old Quebec and had lunch at
Conti Caffe($91.24 for 2), we loved that for an affordable price this fine restaurant
included 4 courses. We had an optimal service, quality food and cool sides on
our food.
We walked down La Terrasse Dufferin
where we could appreciate a view to St Lawrence River and its adjacent. We walked
over Rue du Petit-Champlain, considered the most beautiful street of Quebec, it
is also the oldest shopping district in the whole continent. It was built in
1635. We stepped in the funicular for a cost o around $3 each and enjoyed a
panoramic view of the surrounded area.
After it we grabbed coffee for
our way back home.
This was a beautiful trip an
experience very loved by all of us. I would definitely repeat something similar
very soon. And as I always say: “Soy de experiencias, no de apariencias”
#viveydisfruta
Can't get over it! Magnifique!!!
